The Subaru Model Lineup is Growing with the Introduction of the Three-Row Subaru Ascent SUV

Whether you're setting out to explore the many sights of our beautiful state or just trying to conquer your morning commute from Oro Valley to Tucson, there is a Subaru model to help you. Car shoppers from Marana to Sierra Vista love the great qualities that make every Subaru model on our lot into the complete package of practicality, affordability, and adventurous spirit.

From Subaru's commitment to preserving the environment, all models are constructed in a zero-landfill plant, to the reliability, 97% of models sold in the last 10 years are still on the road today, to the awards from national publications, like earning the Most Trusted Brand award from Kelley Blue Book four years running or ALG naming Subaru the 2018 Top Brand for Residual Value, there are plenty of reasons to consider making a Subaru your next car.

These vehicles are all leaders among their class, but customers seem to prefer the SUV options, like the Subaru Outback, Crosstrek, and Forester, for their cargo room, off-road capability, and safety ratings, with each earning a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Safety Rating from the NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick award from the IIHS, which is why we're excited to announce a new SUV addition: the 2019 Subaru Ascent!

With three-rows and seating up to eight, the Subaru Ascent is the biggest Subaru ever, and it has even more room for cargo and a 5,000-pound towing capacity for the larger gear that won't fit, but that's just part of it, so read on to see what other amazing qualities this all-new SUV packs in its large body.

Capability and Performance

Green Valley drivers can find road surfaces with sand, rocks, snow, and volcanic ash without leaving the state, but the Subaru Ascent has the engineering and design needed to tackle any condition with confidence. Like most new models on display at our dealership, the Subaru Ascent comes standard with the world-renowned Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system that maintains grip and traction even on slippery surfaces.

Coupled with this system is a capable BOXER® 2.4-liter turbocharged engine, with 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque, that does even more to make sure you enjoy your drive, and an efficient Lineartronic® continuously variable transmission that shifts without you feeling any roughness. With all this, Sahuarita drivers can tow trailers up to 5,000 pounds and go over 520 miles without having to stop for gas.

In addition to this drivetrain, the Subaru Ascent comes standard with other engineering features, like X-Mode&xae with Hill Descent Control, Active Torque Vectoring, and a Traction Control System, that improve handling on all roads, and its design has a ground clearance of 8.7 inches, so you can handle uneven surfaces without harming the undercarriage.

Exterior

Mixed with the everyday practicality of the Subaru Ascent is a style that's undeniable while remaining aerodynamic, so the air doesn't push you around, but instead seems to get out of your way. Blended into this style are a variety of exterior features that improve all aspects of the ride for passengers. These include:

  • A 54-inch panoramic power tilt/slide moonroof stretches nearly the entire length of the roof, which lets in natural light and fresh air, but is also 95% UV light reducing, which protects passengers and the interior.
  • Standard raised roof rails are a hassle-free storage option for larger adventure gear, bikes, kayaks, etc., or really any cargo that you don't want taking up space in the cabin.
  • There's an available power rear liftgate that opens up when one of three buttons, on the key fob, in the cabin, and on the gate itself, is pressed, so you can load up and hit the road quickly and efficiently.
  • Keyless Access and  PIN-code access are two simple ways to get into the Subaru Ascent without having to get your keys out.
  • For safety and convenience, the available Steering Responsive Headlights use efficient and brighter LED bulbs while also swiveling when going around corners, so drivers see possible hazards sooner.

Interior Features and Design

We've stressed that the Subaru Ascent is the largest SUV of the model lineup with three spacious rows of seats that comfortably fits eight fully grown passengers thanks to a total of 153.5 cubic feet of passenger room, and with up to 86.5 cubic feet of total cargo room, its versatility is ready for any of your passenger and cargo demands. Plus, mixed throughout that space, without being obtrusive, are a range of convenience and comfort features and technology, like:

  • An 8-way power adjustable driver's seat, tri-zone climate control, and available ventilated front seats make handling Arizona heat much, much easier.
  • Using a camera on the rear, the smart auto-dimming rearview mirror lets you see more clearly what's behind you if there are objects, or a tall backseat passenger, blocking your view.
  • With standard Android™ Auto, Apple CarPlay™, and HD® Radio, the STARLINK™ multimedia system makes selecting directions, music, or climate controls a supremely simple task, and the 6.5- or 8-inch touchscreen display that you control it through is fast and easy to use.
  • Other connectivity features, like a range of charging ports for each row and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, keep you linked up to the outside world when on the go.

Safety and Driver-Assist Features

Passenger protection is prioritized with every Subaru model, but the Subaru Ascent manages to take it a step further. It comes standard with EyeSight® Driver-Assist Technology, which includes:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Lane Departure and Sway Warning
  • Pre-collision Braking
  • Lane Keep Assist

These four features have you covered in all manner of driving situations, but for even more coverage, the Subaru Ascent is available with Blind Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, High Beam Assist, Reverse Automatic Braking, an 180-Degree Front View Camera, and the aforementioned LED Steering Responsive Headlights.
