2018 Subaru Outback: What's New?

Discover What's New for the 2018 Subaru Outback Model Year at Tucson Subaru

The 2018 Subaru Outback continues the brand's long legacy of producing vehicles capable of adventure both on and off the roads. In addition to an updated exterior and interior design, the new Outback also received upgraded technology for the 2018 model year. Let's take a brief look at several key differences between the 2017 Subaru Outback and the new model so that you can make an informed purchasing decision at our Subaru dealership in Tucson.

Performance and Efficiency

Whether you find yourself cruising through the desert landscape or simply commuting to work, the Subaru Outback serves as an excellent choice for all of life's small adventures. The 2018 Outback features the same 175 horsepower, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder SUBARU BOXER® engine as the 2017 Outback, as well as an available 256 horsepower, 3.6-liter 6-cylinder SUBARU BOXER® engine for drivers that crave more horsepower. Both engines still come paired to an updated Lineartronic® CVT that offers a 7-speed manual mode and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters so that you can make swift adjustments as you navigate over hills or other dynamic driving conditions. Refreshed suspension dampers provide you with a smoother ride, and the brand's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) still comes standard on every new Outback model.

New Subaru Outback Design and Comfort

The Outback SUV received a major refresh from the 2017 to the 2018 model year. The interior of the new Outback features a new Titanium Gray color, or you can opt for Slate Black or Warm Ivory to suit your style preferences. Genuine stitching accents around the seats, dashboard, and door panels come offered for the higher trim levels. The cabin of the restyled Subaru Outback now offers noise-reducing laminated front side glass for a quieter drive. On the exterior, you will discover a new bumper design as well as redesigned front cladding to help protect your vehicle from debris when you choose to take your adventures off the pavement. Additional exterior enhancements for the 2018 Subaru Outback include aerodynamic exterior mirrors that further reduce noise, dramatic headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights, and grille openings that appear lower and wider.
