Tucson Subaru Presents: Light the Night: Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Event

Light the Night: Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Event

Join Our Walk to Support the Well-Being of Blood Cancer Patients and Their Families

Light the Night is an interactive, anti-cancer walking event presented by Tucson Subaru.  On October 23rd, we invite you to join us in person as we walk to support the well-being of blood cancer patients and their families.  As we raise money and spread awareness for leukemia and lymphoma research, our dealership in Tucson, AZ, is partnering with Arizona Oncology and the Tucson Medical Center to help reach our fundraising goal of $400,000.

How to Participate

Every year, Tucson Subaru does something to help those who have cancer, including their friends and family who might also be struggling.  Light the Night is an after-dark community event that commences at 5:00 PM on October 23rd, 2021.  After the initial opening ceremony, participants will proceed to walk approximately one mile on a paved path (wheelchair accessible) while holding a decorative lantern.

Light from the lantern is supposed to symbolize life and loss in support of those currently battling blood cancer.  With your lantern in hand, participants will walk the one mile as they illuminate the sky with colorful bursts of energy.  From above, the meandering snake of lanterns will traverse a set distance to commemorate those who are currently battling cancer or who recently lost their bout with cancer.

Show Your Support for Those in Need

Working in partnership with Watermark Retirement Communities and Silverstone Senior Living, Tucson Subaru's Light the Night event is designed to help inspire change in a world of eternal darkness.  For cancer patients who have no other choice but to fight, Light the Night provides an unrelenting and everlasting beacon of brightness for patients to follow as they embark towards a healthier and happier future.

If you can't participate in the event but still wish to contribute, Tucson Subaru is gladly accepting donations as we get closer towards eclipsing our goal of surpassing $400,000 raised.  We're also hosting a virtual event on October 26th for participants who cannot walk or show support in person on the day of the event.   With this in mind, the organizers of Light the Night are taking extreme precautions and asking patients - regardless of their vaccination status - to participate in the virtual event rather than attending in person.

Ignite Your Fight to End Cancer in Tucson, AZ

Light the Night is more than just a community walk - it's a festival of life.  For those unable to walk, we ask that you still join us to commemorate the lives lost and help save those in need by donating to a great cause.  Participants are not required to walk and are welcome to stay at the festival site while the walk commences.  With over half of our fundraising goal already met, we encourage participants to make donations on the day of the event in person at the Donation Collection tent.

If you're interested in helping spread awareness and simultaneously stop the spread of blood cancer - including leukemia and lymphoma - here are some additional reasons why you should consider participating in this year's Light the Night event, including:
