2018 Subaru Forester: What's New for 2018?

What's New in the 2018 Subaru Forester?

Style, safety, and performance. Those are the three major factors of the Subaru Forester that have changed going into the 2018 model year. An SUV designed to be simultaneously adventurous and stylish can only continue to improve upon itself when it comes to tackling those adventures, and that's what Subaru has continued to do with the 2018 Forester.

Being one of the most important concerns when it comes to any vehicle, safety continues to be improved, and one of the best ways to do that is by improving the vehicle's eyesight--literally. For the 2018 model year, all Touring Forester models will come standard with Subaru's EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology, and certain EyeSight®-equipped models will also have the option of adding High Beam Assist and Reverse Auto Braking.

As for style, the 2018 Subaru Forester will be adding a new trim to its lineup: the 2.5i Forester Black Edition Package. This is an upgraded Forester 2.5i Premium with a Lineartronic® CVT. As the name suggests, this model has a lot of black features. Black 18-inch alloy wheels; black and trim on the fog lights, black finish on exterior badges and mirrors; blacked-out wing motif and chrome frame on the front grille. The interior also comes with exclusive black cloth upholstery with a black gloss finish on the center dash. This model trim also comes standard with X-Mode and Hill Descent Control and LED Steering Responsive Headlights.

An SUV has to be able to continue to live up to a certain performance level, and the 2018 Subaru Forester does just that. It's still powered by your choice of either the 2.5-liter Boxer engine with 170 horsepower, or the 2.0-liter intercooled turbocharged I-4 boxer engine with 250 horsepower, and all models come standard with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. But this time, Active Torque Vectoring now comes standard for the 2.0XT Touring model.
